VP OF TECHNICAL SERVICES  •  VP OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Professional with 12 years of industry experience and 27 years of additional experience in information systems with solutions that are focused on business value and objectives.

·         Created efficient systems in order to bring down costs by implementing and streamlining coding processes through proper software engineering technique.  Restructure of process, requirements documentation (BRD, WRD), and software development, project management; implemented  document repository system to hold these requirements.  This led to additional revenues that created 1 million in revenue in 2001 to currently in 2007 bringing in 3.5 million.

·         Designed and implemented Content Managements Systems (CMS) for various clients with innovative ideas and coding that allowed clients to manage their own content and also connect to legacy and/or current backend processes and allow for accessibility to business related data.  These systems adhere to SDLC concepts utilizing JAD, RAD, and Xtreme Programming methodologies.

·         Brought business value by aligning information systems with business objectives for company wide and/or department initiatives, for example, SAN system for a Graphics department to increase production of online graphics for broadcast without hiring additional staff.

Technology Expertise Includes:

·         Enterprise Architect with high degrees of skill in network engineering, database technologies, security and programming (C#, VB.Net, VB, Perl, JavaScript, VBScript)

·         Maintenance of 23 internal servers, Extreme Network Black Diamond switches, Alpine and Summit, OSPF, Sonic/Proventia FireWalls, Dell Layer 3 managed switches at all Gigabit network, T1, Wireless 802.11b, Compaq ML350s, ML370, HP-DL370s, AS400, DB2

HIGHLIGHT OF ACHIEVMENTS

Problem Solving:  Designed systems that created highly redundant and available systems to cut down costs in administration.  One particular system consisting of a large 4 server web farm, database system, along with high security had an uptime of 6 years with 99.99999% availability.

Financial Analysis/Cost Control:  Uncovered through statistical analysis $100,000 in potential lost revenues by inaccurate estimations in project completions.  The sample was of 60 projects spanning over a 5 year period.

Enterprise Architect: Created and implemented a working SOA (service oriented architecture) that provided accountability and alignment within the enterprise (still ongoing) as a 2 year plan.

Adaptability/Flexibility:  Maintained initiatives to create redundant systems and code efficiencies even when there was pressure to maintain billable hours for development team above 75%.  Also, implementing new documentation systems to increase efficiencies and still maintain high billable times.

Programming:  Instituted Source Control, tiered level production process, documentation systems, and estimation techniques to enhance project workflow to be quicker and more efficient.  Also created team systems for programmers to learn and develop with each other.

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

The Web Software Development Process - you have to MAKE them understand

Orlando Code Camp

I would like to talk about the developer’s responsibility to know and push to implement these processes as a way to understand their work from a different perspective and to push for implementation. For example, every place I’ve ever worked at in my past, there was some major piece of the software development process that was missing, like bad estimation techniques causing mis-alignment of hours it would take to complete a project.

Make the GridView Dance

Orlando Code Camp

Our favorite component would have to be the Gridview where we would like to demonstrate a few of the techniques we incorporated into our mini-content management systems. Specifically, the check mark auto-post back, post-back urls, and having the code create gridviews on the fly. Finally we would like to talk about how we mix some of the techniques of Classic ASP effectively into our object oriented code.

Moving to an Exchange IP SAN/Cluster & File Server Snapshot Backup
SNIA Storage Network World (ComputerWorld)

The Golf Channel chose to implement Microsoft Cluster Services for both file serving and our Exchange environment using iSCSI as the transport protocol connected to the LeftHand Networks IP SAN solution for storage. This solution provided us with the cost savings opposed to traditional SAN networks, along with the performance and reliability that was desired.
